Last week my parents came to visit and to see the babies.  It was nice to see them and they brought presents from everyone that had heard about our newest additions to the family!  My mom came in and got to hold one of the girls while the other girl was still sleeping.  My dad was tapped to take April on much needed walks (since the girls have shown up we haven't done much of anything except take care of them so April needed some loving).  My parents were a big help as they gave us some human interaction other than our own and they also went to the store and picked us up some groceries since our shelves were getting bare.  My mom also brought some food that she had pre-made and got ready for us to just pop in the oven!

This weekend we have started to venture out of the house with the girls.  This was something that was needed to start returning our lives to a sense of normalcy and to keep Melissa's sanity (she hasn't really gone out since she has been at home on bed rest and since she had the babies were born close 9 weeks).  We went to Target and Costco.  We didn't have anyone have a major meltdown or start screaming their heads off, which was good!  We did get a lot of stops and stares since we were using the dual stroller and people were like "I just have to look!"  We also went out to Babies R' Us to pick up a few items.  We picked up a couple more of something that I think is the greatest thing to have as a new parent Summer Infant Swaddleme Cotton Knit, Pink.  These things are great to keep your babies nice and snug and they help get them to sleep!

What a Difference a Couple of Hours Makes

Today we went to Costco to go shopping and on our way into Costco, I said to Melissa: “Are you hungry?” She replied and said that she was not hungry and that we had eaten out too much this month. I said ok and let it go. Now I have to tell you that since she has become pregnant she has been very hungry. So we headed home to unload the groceries, let the dogs out, and then we had to head out for some more shopping. We happened to pass a “Logan’s Roadhouse” and Melissa said we should get some of their rolls to go along with the ribs that we were cooking back at the house. As we pulled into the parking lot Melissa looks at me and says: “If they do not have rolls to go, we are eating dinner here!” I told her didn’t you just tell me about eating out earlier and she said, I don’t care I am starving. Luckily, they did have rolls to go so we were able to have them with our dinner, that we made at home. I am going to have to keep my ears open to prevent any binge eating.

Well The Week Is Over

That means that the boys are going to be flying back home tomorrow.  They sometimes fight but all and all we have a blast when they are here.  In total we went to:

1. Keeneland Race Track for horse racing.
2. Cincinnati Reds Opening Day.
3. A 16 mile bike ride.
4. See the movie "Knowing" with them.
5. A trip to Costco.
6. A Picnic and hike at Big Bone Lick Park.

I will miss both of them and hope they get to come back for another week this summer to visit.


My parents are coming in to celebrate Easter with Melissa, April, and me.  I haven't seen them in a couple of months so it will be fun to see my family again.  Well talk to you l8r!
